We'll Antonio constantly doesn't do his job at defending corners so its of little surprise.

Re: If you don't fancy Luton away
From brief highlights on SSN we should have won comfortably but for Antonio's inability to HIT A COWS ARSE WITH A BANJO.

Horrendous defending for the equaliser. Ball whipped in, unmarked free header in the middle of the goal which falls to another unmarked player 2 yds from goal for a tap in.

Unimpressive in all preseason games so far by the sound of it. The sooner reinforcements arrive the better.

Exactly, so it should be an easy win

Absolutely.

I bet Luton didn't go out there thinking it didn't matter if they won or lost.

Friendly or no Friendly I think we look sloppy all over the pitch and it isn't a good look.
As Shankly once said there's no such thing as a Friendly.

Apart from Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen I get the impression that a noisy majority of posters on this forum don't like any of our players

As I said earlier, we are carrying far too many players at the moment and that's fuck all to do with fitness.... and we're still playing Masuaku for 65 mins

Antonio made a meal of the "push". I don't think it would have been disallowed in this shit day and age of VAR.

Re: If you don't fancy Luton away
*foul should have been "Given" in the lead up, think it was Antonio who looked to have been pushed to the ground from behind.......

Re: If you don't fancy Luton away
I know you can’t take these pre season games too seriously but I did notice that last season we were winning them easily, think it was 6 wins and a draw, and contrast that with this pre season of scrapped wins, draws and losing games..........

And this Luton game was nothing to get excited about, only saw the highlights but we seemed prone to being exposed at the back, everyone looking around with that WTF look on their face! 1-1 was about right even though their last minute goal looked like a foul should have been in the lead up.

Re: If you don't fancy Luton away
The same old debate comes up on here every pre-season about if you can take friendly games as a gauge to the new season, literally the same old every summer.

Yes, we look shit, but you have to wait until the City game to see where we are. We have no chance of beating them, as we saw in May even when 2 up, but if we get undressed say 0-4 then we can worry, but if we nick a draw (unlikely) or it's a narrow defeat, we should be okay for the more winnable games thereafter.

Pre season friendlies mean sweet FA. Merely an exercise to get fitter without getting injured

So we are still shit at Luton. Even after 30 odd years. Can’t see what you lot are complaining about.?

Re: If you don't fancy Luton away
Didn’t Pochetino get the tin tack because he wanted to spend at Spurs and then they got off to a bad start when he didn’t get to spend?

How’s that going to work with our owners?

Re: If you don't fancy Luton away
Every time Vlasic got the ball he seemed to give it away. Either he’s really short on confidence or he’s just not very good. I don’t expect Moyes to move him on so soon after he bought him, but he’s a passenger right now, and a very expensive one at that.

i don't think it's knee jerk to suggest that this current incarnation of WHU with moyes and his favourite core of players is in the process of winding down.

i don't think we'll be in any real peril, but as of now i'm not expecting a stellar season or for dearest david to still be in charge the season after.

hope i'm wrong.

Norf,

totally agree about Luton as a place.

I have been to loads of Towns and Cities across the UK watching football and it’s the worst place I have been to and I used to live in Swindon!!

Luton town centre and the area around the stadium is a complete shit hole.

I will say though that Kenilworth Road itself is proper old school and the away end where you go through someone’s back garden is something else. Love the character of that type of stadium.

Funnily enough, Luton was a shithole in the 80s as well.

Re: If you don't fancy Luton away
Apparently I’ve just got back from the 80’s otherwise known as Luton.
Fuck me I thought Glasgow was shit what a fucking hole that place is
Typical friendly have to say we look massively under cooked at the mo. Two weeks away and they look miles off it.
Played a back 3 and we looked all over the shop in the first 20mins once we settled down thought we did ok.
Usual problems if Arthur was a horse they’d of put him out of his misery ages ago how the fuck this geezer is a pro is beyond me, cresswell looked more comfortable in a back three but still looked so slow and got bullied by their big lump up front. Antonio came on and looked like he’ll never score a single goal ever again…three games I’ve seen in the last week and he’s been clean through in each game and at no point did I think he’d score and true to form I’m not sure he even really came close on all three occasions. Soucek did alright good to see him nick a goal if he’s going to play and we want a decent season he needs to find his shooting boots from two seasons ago.
